Attending the ceremony were Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council Chau Thi My Phuong; former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and former Chairman of the Tien Giang Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Vinh; and Vice Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Dieu.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Dieu presented flowers as congratulations from the province to the project investor, project developer, and main contractor.

The Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee (now Dong Thap Province) collaborated with Tay Bac Investment Group Joint Stock Company and AEON Vietnam Co., Ltd. on June 10 to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the Tien Giang Commercial–Service Center project and to present the Investment Registration Certificate, according to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Dieu, who spoke at the ceremony. The project has met all requirements to move on with ground preparation and start following building phases after just four months, thanks to the proactive and positive coordination of departments, local authorities, and the investor.

The Vice Chairman expressed confidence that the project will be completed swiftly and with excellent quality, satisfying local residents' shopping needs and advancing the province's commercial-service development and general socioeconomic growth, thanks to the construction unit's reputation and professionalism. In order to guarantee that the project is carried out smoothly and in accordance with the plan, he also reaffirmed that the province will continue to support and accompany it.

The vice chairman added that Dong Thap has a wealth of agricultural resources and significant potential for the growth of commercial services.  In order to create procurement plans and include local goods into AEON's supply chain system, the province expects that AEON Vietnam would work with local authorities.

Provincial leaders and representatives of participating units carry out the project initiation ritual.

The Tien Giang Commercial–Service Center Project, situated at Hung Vuong Square (Dao Thanh Ward), has more than 3 hectares of residential and commercial land, according to Mr. Tran Quang Tho, General Director of Tay Bac Group, a representative of the project developer. In April 2024, the Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee (now Dong Thap Province) gave their approval to the project. With a total expenditure of roughly VND 1,155 billion, Tay Bac Group gave AEON Vietnam Co., Ltd. approximately 2 hectares of commercial land to construct the shopping complex after winning the auction.

The project not only carries significant economic and commercial importance but is also expected to become a bustling commercial hub, contributing to building a modern, civilized, and internationally integrated living environment for Dong Thap Province in the coming years.
