The Provincial People’s Committee Chairman inspects the progress of key transportation projects

On the afternoon of November 28, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Pham Thanh Ngai and leaders of relevant departments conducted a field inspection of the progress of key transportation projects in the province.

Accordingly, Chairman Pham Thanh Ngai inspected the on-site progress of the Project of Upgrading National Highway 30 (Phase 3), the section from Cao Lanh to Hong Ngu. The project is more than 14 km long; and the majority of the major building components have been finished thus far. The road is expected to open to traffic on December 15 and be inaugurated on December 19.

The Chairman requested the units involved to complete the remaining items to ensure readiness for opening and to facilitate smooth traffic for local residents.

The Chairman then visited the construction sites of Phase 1 of the Cao Lanh–An Huu Highway and heard updates from units regarding the project's development as well as its present challenges.

The report states that Phase 1 of the project, which consists of two component projects, has a total investment of more than VND 7,400 billion. With a total investment of more than VND 3,600 billion and a length of over 16 km, Component Project 1 is currently more than 68% complete. With an initial investment of more than VND 3,850 billion, Component Project 2 is over 11 km long and has reached almost 62% of its construction value.

Chairman Pham Thanh Ngai instructed departments, relevant units to mobilize resources to expedite building progress while guaranteeing that all technical requirements are completed after personally reviewing and hearing the reports. Units need to create plans and solutions for accelerating the work, completing all assigned tasks, outlining each unit's responsibilities, creating thorough construction schedules for each section, and examining material supply sources to guarantee continuous construction, he also placed a strong emphasis on evaluating the progress of each item and segment.

Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai assigned the Department of Construction, the project owner, and relevant units to conduct surveys and suggest solutions to make travel easier for locals living close to the project area in relation to the proposal to build additional frontage roads for locals at various points of Component Project 2.

On this occasion, the Chairman also visited and presented gifts to officials, engineers, and workers at the construction site
