At the start of the closing session, delegates focused on discussing the following topics: developing Cao Lanh ward into a center for high-quality medical services and health care in the province; Dong Thap Provincial Police with a core role in ensuring security and order, contributing to political stability, serving socioeconomic development in the province in the new era, taking advantage of strengths, developing the tourism economy in the commune, contributing to connecting the chain of urban areas in the economic corridor along the Tien River, etc.t

The Congress presented a report that synthesized discussion opinions and contributions to the draft political report that would be submitted to the Provincial Party Congress, as well as a report on the acceptance and explanation of the topics discussed and the various opinions on the document.  The Congress also delivered a report on the voting results for the essential topics of the draft political report that will be submitted to the 1st Provincial Party Congress, period 2025-2030.

During the concluding session, the Congress announced its decision to appoint members of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee, as well as the Vice Chairman and Chairman, for the 2025-2030 period.  In particular, it appointed comrade Phan Van Hop, a member of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee and Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee from 2020 to 2025, to serve as Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee from 2025 to 2030.

At the same time, the Congress announced its decision to designate delegates from the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee to attend the Party's 14th National Congress, including 34 official delegates and three alternates.

Delegates vote to pass the Congress Resolution

The delegates unanimously approved the Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.

Delegates, in particular, strongly agreed on 14 main targets, including 04 economic targets, 05 socio-cultural targets, 03 environmental targets, and 02 party-building targets; 05 key tasks; and 05 strategic breakthroughs to lay the groundwork for Dong Thap to grow rapidly and sustainably in the new term.

The Congress had the overarching goal of establishing a clean and strong party and political system. Also, the goal of the Congress is to promote national solidarity, raise people's hopes, and self-reliance. By 2030, Dong Thap aims to be a province with a rapidly growing industry, a pioneer in the development of ecological agriculture, modern countryside, and civilized farmers, and a member of the Mekong Delta's leading developed localities, improving people's lives, advancing culture and society, and ensuring national defense and security. By 2045, Dong Thap will be the Mekong Delta's hub for modern agriculture and ecotourism, leading the country in a variety of agricultural fields, establishing advanced industries, being a livable place, and having prosperous and happy people.

In his closing speech at the Congress, comrade Le Quoc Phong emphasized that, with the Congress' guiding viewpoint of "Comprehensive - focused - connected - breakthrough and sustainable development", Congress delegates focused on discussing and evaluating the results of implementing the Congress Resolution in the past 5 years and proposed tasks and solutions, as well as 5 strategic breakthroughs for the 2025 - 2030 period to develop the economy at a fast, reasonable, and sustainable; effectively implement the fields of culture - society, national defense - security, ensure social security, improve the quality of people's lives; build a clean and strong Party and political system, improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of grassroots party organizations and party members.

Comrade Le Quoc Phong stated that the first Congress of the new Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee marked the beginning of a new chapter in Dong Thap's growth. The Congress urged Dong Thap's cadres, party members, and citizens to uphold the spirit of solidarity, innovation, and dynamism, implement the Congress Resolution, and create new values to enable the region thrive and grow.

The Congress requested party committees, party organizations, authorities at all levels, and the political system in Dong Thap province to proactively research and develop action programs and specific plans so that the Resolution of the Congress can quickly come into action, creating a combined strength for each locality and unit to quickly make breakthrough contributions and effectively contribute to the implementation of the Resolution of the 1st Party Congress, term 2025-2030.

Comrade Ngo Chi Cuong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Deputy Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term, gave gifts of appreciation to previous members of the Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 period.
